The Orange Hire team get amongst it at the Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo

Our team recently spent a sunny April weekend at Australia’s largest construction expo catching up with customers and taking a look at what’s new in the industry.

With all the biggest brands in excavation, earthmoving and landscaping on show, the National Diesel Dirt and Turf Expo is held in Sydney’s West over three huge days, providing a great opportunity for our team to chat with both new and existing customers and suppliers.

What did Orange Hire have on show?
Our stand featured the new Kubota SVL97 loader and new Kobelco SK135SR mid-sized excavator. These were welcomed to the Orange Hire fleet along with the Kubota U55 and a range of fantastic new attachments.

Kubota SVL 97 compact tracked loader
The new Kubota SVL 97 compact tracked loader was a great hit at the show with loads of visitors impressed by the powerful and efficient new unit. This loader is hot off the production line after being released in the US just a few months ago, and Orange Hire is one of the first rental companies in Australia to offer the SLV97 for hire.

Kobelco SK135SR 15t excavator
The Kobelco SK135SR is a mid-sized workhorse in the 15t weight category. Boasting greater efficiency and productivity compared to previous models, it offers a 10% increase in engine output, 17% increase in digging force, and its digging cycle time has been reduced by 10%. Plus, a short radius design makes it ideal for tight cramped site conditions.

Plus, we had earthmoving equipment for sale on our stand, with our resident used equipment expert Natasha Haddad showcasing a number of quality low-hour ex-rental machines including the Kubota U55 excavator, a firm favourite in the smaller 5.5t weight class.

Awesome attachments from Attach2
Our friends at Attach2 displayed their precision-engineered couplers including the Sure-Grip, Heli-Tilt, and Mini-Tilt. These high-quality hitches are used across the full range of Orange Hire’s machines. Attach2 also had their multi grab bucket and all-in-one bucket on display on their stand.

Compaction, excavation and everything in between

All up, hundreds of exhibitors got together at this family-friendly event at Sydney Dragway including one of our favourite compaction manufacturers Sany. The team showed why their tough, reliable rollers are gaining more traction in the Australian market.

It was great to finally be at a face to face event again after Covid restrictions have eased, meeting with new and potential customers of Orange Hire. Our National Marketing & Sales Effectiveness Manager, Simon Hatton, notes that the expo provides an excellent opportunity to promote both our people and our machines.
